Hello, I am a Behaviour Analyst and have been working in the field of ABA since 2002. Childhood is a time of tremendous growth and I am excited to work alongside parents and families to help their children on a path of growth to reach their fullest potential.

Have you been told that your child struggles with self-regulation?

Are you worried that your child reacts by hitting, kicking or pushing others?

Does your child's emotional response appear not to match the situation?

Do you wonder if some of your child's challenges are due to feeling anxious?

Is it common for you to repeat yourself multiple times before your child will listen to you?

Are you concerned that your child's behaviour negatively impacts their relationships? Do you find yourself playing referee with your children?

If some of these concerns resonate with you, you've come to the right place! I work directly with children and their families teaching them essential skills such as:
Self-advocacy skills- teaching your child to ask for what they want and/or need
Emotion regulation skills - teaching your child tools and strategies to calm when they are upset (customized to your child's individual personality and behaviour)
Tolerance training - teaching your child that things will not always go the way they hoped and/or expected, and it will be okay.
Cooperative skills- teaching your child how to get along with others
Friendship skills- teaching your child key friendship skills appropriate to age and developmental level

Families reach out for an initial free consultation to determine if CAPAX is a good fit for their child.

Service starts with a Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA). This assessment will highlight your child's areas of strengths and needs along with why current challenges are occurring. Once I know why a set of behaviours are occurring, then a tailored intervention plan can be developed.

Weekly or bi-weekly sessions are scheduled that typically occur in the home. The sessions are guided by the intervention plan outlined in the assessment report. Direct teaching, modeling and coaching is provided during these sessions.
